Transfigured Orchestra V1: The Quiet Ensemble

What it does

The first volume of Sonora Cinematic’s Transfigured Orchestra series for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler. A string ensemble, woodwinds and brass were recorded across a range of articulations and blended into 30 curated presets, all pitched at the quiet end: tremolos, sordino strings, alto flutes, clarinets, gentle horn ensembles, tuba pianissimo and hybrid chamber textures rather than loud tutti writing.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack through User Sounds and plays the presets from a keyboard in AUM with no added reverb, so the built-in processing is what you hear. She solos layers to separate the brass, strings and woodwinds inside a preset, then closes by building a cue with Scaler feeding two SoundBox instances plus a guitar from another Sonora pack.

Worth knowing

The build Jade had was buggy, with some presets loading the wrong instrument or dropping out. She says Sonora and AudioModern knew and had a fix coming in the SoundBox 1.1.0 update. The writing sits under other parts rather than carrying a line, and SoundBox needs one AudioModern pack bought inside it to unlock editing.
