ToneStack Pro

What it does

Amps, cabinets and pedals modelled in stereo and assembled into a chain by hand. Blocks swap by holding a slot, flick away to delete, and drop in from a browser sorted by type, from distortions and filters through modulation, delay and reverb to acoustic amps, rotary and bass. A splitter runs two parallel paths. Cabinet mics move around the speaker with the distance shown. Presets fill four banks with favourites, search and export, settings cover output limiting, processing quality and MIDI learn, and a tuner stays on in the top bar.

In the demo

Jade opens the standalone first to show what the plugin leaves out, then runs the AUv3 in AUM on a six string and later a seven string. She works through the preset banks, swaps distortion pedals, adds a reverb and a noise gate, moves mics mid-take and splits the chain, ending on metal and bass tones.

Worth knowing

The studio, tape deck and metronome belong to the standalone app, not the plugin. Expansions are separate purchases on top: this demo is the AUv3 launch, when Pot o’ Gold was the only one, and the later V2 pack has its own demo.
