TB Equalizer Pro

What it does

A dynamic equalizer with the usual shelves, cuts, notches and tilt shapes plus a set of signal adaptive filters that act only on transients, sustain, sibilance, ambience, direct sound or background noise. Any band can be made dynamic with range, threshold, attack and release, or driven by an external side chain. There are four EQ slots to copy between, an EQ match recorder, a spectrogram and loudness matching.

Jade runs the adaptive filters on real material: transient and ambience filters on a drum kit with its own reverb, direct versus background on a spoken vocal to push noise down, sibilance on a sung take. She side chains a kick to a sine, and records an EQ match against a second track.

Worth knowing

This is a new purchase rather than an upgrade for owners of the earlier ToneBoosters equalizer. The adaptive filters are where the depth is, so anyone wanting a few quick bells uses a small part of it.
