What it does

An expansion pack for Loopmix, AudioModern’s loop remixer, holding 35 kits of IDM and glitch-leaning drums. Each kit loads across Loopmix’s six lanes and runs through the host’s engine, so rearrange, reverse, density, volume and pitch can be randomised over a whole set or one lane, with locks holding whatever should stay put. It is bought from the expansions area of the AudioModern site, arrives as a zip and goes in through Import Pack.

In the demo

Jade unzips the download on the iPad, imports it with Loopmix running as an AUv3 in AUM, and plays the kits end to end. She swaps single kicks out from inside a set, randomises pitch so monotone samples pick up a melody, moves the change complexity from subtle to complex, locks tracks so a randomise leaves them alone, and finishes on the free Blend packs.

Worth knowing

Loopmix is a separate purchase, and this pack comes from the AudioModern site rather than the App Store, so the store link here points at the host app. Several other Loopmix packs are free, which is a cheaper way to hear how the format behaves first.
