What it does
A lo-fi colour effect built from five stages, each on a single knob with several parameters behind it. Magic is a chorus modelled on a Juno with a darker tone, heat is tape style saturation, wash is a wide 1980s reverb, shape is a bit crusher, and drift adds pitch wobble. A static control adds internal noise, which the other stages also process, and a mix knob blends the whole thing against the dry signal.
In the demo
Jade opens with five instances across an eight bit track in Logic, then moves to AUM and takes each knob on its own over a held chord so the effect is isolated. She turns the mix up full on shape to show the source still coming through, then tries the chain on drums and on a vocal.
Worth knowing
One knob per stage means quick results and little deep control. A desktop version is sold separately by Baby Audio.
