Super 606 Drums

What it does

A synthesized drum machine modelled on the TR-606, built without samples, running standalone or as an AUv3 on iPhone and iPad. Each drum has its own tuning, decay and tone controls, and the step sequencer adds accents, flams, ratchets, triplets and 32nd-note resolution. Built-in delay, reverb, filter and crusher can be routed to individual drums.

In the demo

Jade generates whole kits and sequences with the pattern generator, finger-taps a beat into the pads with record on, and adds flams and substeps to a hi-hat line. She then exports patterns as WAV, MIDI and zipped per-drum stems, and loads the AUv3 in AUM with kick, snare and hats on separate outputs.

Worth knowing

The randomizer has no undo, so a pattern you liked is gone once you roll again. Patterns top out at 16 steps, so longer arrangements happen in a host.
