Starlit

What it does

A free sound pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox, aimed at indietronica and synth-pop. Thirty-seven presets cover arps, basses, keys, leads, pads and textures, from soft washed pads and nostalgic keys through gritty lo-fi basses to bright leads, with filters mapped to the mod wheel or to key pressure on several of them. It arrives as a zip of roughly 750 MB and goes in through SoundBox’s import pack button.

In the demo

Jade imports it in AUM and plays every preset from a keyboard, using SoundBox’s chords page on the leads and riding the mod wheel where filters are mapped. She layers it under Piano Motifs on a third channel to show how it sits in a track.

Worth knowing

It needs SoundBox, which is free to download, though saving and pack creation there stay locked until you buy a paid pack. It is a bright synth-pop set rather than the orchestral and ambient material that most SoundBox packs cover.
