What it does
A sample-based emulation of the Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88, an analog drum box from 1981, with kick, snare, two hi-hats and a cymbal. Each voice has pitch, decay, pan and volume, and the kit runs through a low pass filter, overdrive, compressor and reverb. Its sequencer goes up to 32 steps, takes per-track randomization, and writes patterns out as MIDI files.
In the demo
Jade steps through the preset patterns, which move the sequencer without touching the sounds, then shortens the sequence to odd lengths for polyrhythms and turns on re-randomizing. She saves a pattern to iCloud, drags the MIDI into Logic Pro, and sets up several instances on separate tracks so each drum can be recorded and processed on its own.
Worth knowing
The kit is fixed at five voices with no sample loading, so it covers one narrow vintage sound rather than a general drum machine. The lock panel applies only to the randomizer, which Jade works out on camera.
