What it does
A single preset pack for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler, and the second in Kompose Audio’s Sparks series. The Silica Pad stacks four sources from new and vintage hardware keyboards, with the mod wheel mapped so that pushing it up thins the pad down to a low rumble and pulling it back brings the layers in. It ships in standard tuning and at 432 Hz.
In the demo
Jade rides the mod wheel through a held chord to show the waves moving in and out, then plays the 432 Hz version, and suggests automating that wheel from a host. She also pulls the attacks down in the controls page so the pad turns into something short, and syncs the vector to tempo.
Worth knowing
One preset is the whole download, so it suits long ambient beds layered with other SoundBox content. It expands to around a gigabyte.
