Soulplay

What it does

A guitar library for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler on iPad and desktop, made by Kompose Audio with Sample Logic. It draws on over 1,000 source recordings of instruments including a Martin 18 string, a Mitchell 12 string, a Gibson Les Paul and a Gibson J50, reworked into 45 presets: 24 core sounds plus 21 vector variants that add movement. The results are ambient and cinematic, with very long tails, rather than playable guitar parts.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack, then plays every preset in order from an Arturia KeyStep, stepping from each core sound to its vector version. She shows the reverb sitting in the master and turns it off, adds an extra track slot from her own sounds, and edits attack and voice mode near the end.

Worth knowing

It ships as an 812 MB FLAC pack or a 2.69 GB wave pack. The sounds suit scoring and soundscapes, and buying this pack does not unlock SoundBox itself, which needs one AudioModern pack bought inside the app.
