SampleWiz 2

What it does

A sampler and synth in one, BLEASS and Jordan Rudess rebuilding the original SampleWiz ten years on. A sound is recorded straight in from an input, the mic or a file import, then trimmed, cropped, reversed and retuned by octave, semitone and fine. Three engines read it: a normal mode with movable start, end and loop points plus a crossfade, a granular mode with turbulence and spread, and a cloud mode with window, rate and position. Around them sit a drawable filter with drive and ADSR, two LFOs with long destination lists, a motion sequencer, an arpeggiator, reverb with shimmer, and delay.

In the demo

Jade samples a MicroFreak into an instance in AUM, which turns a monophonic hardware sound polyphonic, then records vocals through it and imports a file. She busses four apps into one instance to capture a single layered tone, and closes on the factory banks and the legacy SampleWiz sounds.

Worth knowing

Extra MPE presets are a separate in-app purchase, which Jade passes over as she has no MPE controller to hand. Preset packs for it have their own entries here, including the Jordan Rudess pack and the free MPE Endeavors.
