Radio Unit

What it does

An AUv3 plugin that plays internet radio on a channel inside a host. It ships with a station list covering news, genre and oddity streams, from BBC News and Business FM to Radio Nintendo and a drone station, and below that sit user slots where any stream address can be pasted and entered. Slots filled in one session are still there the next, though they keep the user slot label rather than taking a name.

In the demo

Jade builds a soundscape in AUM over an eight channel MIDI Mixer template, stacking a drone station, a radio play, street noise and bells on separate channels. She records passes through Gauss Field Looper, runs them through a harmonizer and Velvet Machine, then pastes in a synthwave stream she copied from a station list on the Audiobus forum.

Worth knowing

She sticks to non-commercial stations to keep copyright claims off the stream. Because the stations are live, a reopened session plays different material, so it suits people after found noise and drones rather than anything repeatable.
