What it does

A four voice diatonic pitch shifter. Each voice takes an interval and its own delay, and the shifted notes are quantized to a chosen key and scale, so one part comes back as harmony rather than a flat transposition. Voices A and C sit in the left channel and B and D in the right, a pitch mix control moves them between the centre and the sides, and a ribbon along the bottom sweeps several parameters at once.

In the demo

Jade runs it in AUM on acoustic guitar first, going through the presets and then editing Heavy Quad Octave down to a third, a fifth and an octave. She switches to a live mic, turns the delays off because they read as ping pong, and builds a death metal harmony before loading it onto the lower of two growl tracks in an unmixed song of her own, tucked under the lead vocal.

Worth knowing

A scale she wanted was not on the list, so she dials those intervals in by hand. An Eventide spotlight episode also runs it over drums, where the quantized voices put melody onto something unpitched.
