MeloVox

What it does

A vocal harmoniser that generates up to five harmony voices. Auto sense listens to the incoming vocal and places harmonies on a chosen key and scale, or MIDI chords and a MIDI melody line can drive the pitches instead, and a fixed mode works like a plain shifter. Each voice has its own level, and the chain adds formant preservation, a noise gate, doubler, EQ that can sit before or after, reverb, and an output compressor. A separate vocoder runs an internal saw and pulse carrier or an external synth.

In the demo

Jade mutes the real harmony tracks on one of her own songs and replaces them with MeloVox, then sings live through it in AUM. She routes SynthMaster One into the vocoder as an external carrier, and builds a set list of saved states locked to one key.

Worth knowing

Getting clean results depends on knowing the key and scale of the part, so a chord finder alongside it helps. Octave up and down voices sit back in the mix and usually need extra level.
