Pure Steel String

What it does

A steel-string acoustic guitar pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox, captured in the same sessions as Sonora Cinematic’s Panorama Acoustic library for Kontakt and following Pure Nylon in their Pure guitar series. Presets run from dynamic plucked and picked tones through harmonics, tremolos, octaves, frozen strings, pluckscapes and self-playing improv patches, all velocity sensitive and MPE aware. It downloads as WAV or as a smaller FLAC set.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack in AUM and plays the presets from a keyboard, using SoundBox’s chords page to turn single notes into strums and riding the mod wheel on the fifths and octaves patch. She then feeds it from 4Pockets Strummer so the chords come from a strum surface instead of the keys.

Worth knowing

It needs SoundBox, which is a free download, and the same files load in the desktop version. The improv and pluckscape presets keep moving under held notes, so anyone after plain rhythm guitar should watch the picked section first.
