Pure Glide

What it does

A sound pack sold as an in-app purchase inside Pure Synth Platinum, the free host app, built around the pitched glide common in urban and gospel playing, where notes slide from one pitch into the next rather than stepping. Alongside the glide patches it adds pads, leads, keys, stabs, plucks, bass and a set of plain waveforms, all playable across Pure Synth’s four sound slots. A filter cutoff that eases in after the note starts arrives with it.

In the demo

Jade plays the pack over a beat from Splat to Clat, working through the glide chords, the polyphonic patches, then the leads, pads and bass banks. She points out how much of the pack is ordinary sounds that happen to glide, and mixes a Pure Glide slot against a BlueBeast one in the same patch.

Worth knowing

It needs Pure Synth Platinum, and the packs install wherever that app’s sample folder points, including an external drive. Anyone not after that particular sliding sound will find the glide baked into most of the presets rather than offered as a control.
