Pro-Q 3

What it does

A parametric EQ with up to 24 bands, each switchable between bell, shelf, low and high cut, notch and brick wall shapes, with bands that can be made dynamic. Tapping a band opens its own panel for shape, gain, frequency and bandwidth, with switches to disable it or invert its gain, and a wider strip repeats those controls along the bottom. The preset browser is grouped into starting curves, dynamic sets, drums and instruments.

In the demo

Jade puts it on the bus tracks of a 32 track DreadCircus song in Auria Pro, with LRC5 and 4Pockets Visual EQ on individual tracks underneath. She runs a drum preset on the drum bus, picks Guitar Repair for the acoustic guitars, works the piano and strings buses by ear, then mixes down and compares the result with the two earlier episodes.

Worth knowing

The listing is iPad only, with no iPhone build, and it is the older version sold next to Pro-Q 4. Jade stays on presets and one band’s options rather than working through everything in it.
