Preset Expansion for Lo-Fi Tape

What it does

An in-app purchase for Lo-Fi Tape, Weston Fletcher’s sampled tape keyboard, adding a second preset bank alongside the 110 factory presets. The sounds stay in the same territory: soft pianos, organs, bells, marimba, plucked guitar and hissy vintage keys, all sample based, with tape noise sitting behind the notes. Each one stays editable through the app’s reverb, flanger, chorus, filter and detune controls, and can be starred, edited and saved back as a user preset.

In the demo

Jade plays the pack from a connected keyboard and mostly lets the sounds speak, with Zoa generating parts over the top. She stops now and then to add chorus, move the filters, or run a preset through outboard AUv3s like ChowMatrix, and shows where the pack lands in the preset folder.

Worth knowing

It needs Lo-Fi Tape itself, which is a separate and cheaper purchase. This is a listening pass more than a walkthrough, so the app’s own controls get a brief tour near the start and again at the end.
