Pop Drummer

What it does

A session drummer for pop that plays acoustic kits with fills, intensity and a jam control rather than chaining fixed loops. This update makes it an AUv3 and lets it trade parts with iBassist: send a rhythm over and the bass line follows it, or accept a bass line and have the drums rework themselves around it. Grooves can be drawn in by hand, kits swapped piece by piece, and the MIDI note map edited and saved per target app. It also runs standalone, where a song mode chains grooves into an arrangement and export writes a full mix or separate audio and MIDI tracks per kit piece.

In the demo

Jade passes patterns back and forth with iBassist in AUM, changes kits and drummers mid-play, and pushes the jam effects onto hats and kick. She then records its MIDI into Logic with send notes switched on, and sets a GM map so it can drive DigiStix.

Worth knowing

Song mode crashed twice while sending to the bass app during the demo. Lumbeat’s other drummer apps stay Inter-App Audio, so only this one and iBassist load as plugins.
