Pocket Singer

What it does

A singing synthesizer built around an original character. You assemble a voice from a stack of attribute tags, rock, dark, sweet, bright, gentle and so on, choose male or female, then build the anime avatar that comes with it. Notes go into a piano roll and each takes a typed syllable, with editable phrasing spellings, drawable pitch and vibrato, and an emotion lane that behaves like velocity. It holds several vocalists per song across three languages, imports MIDI and backing audio, and exports audio, MIDI, the project or a lyric video.

In the demo

Jade reinstalls it to walk the first run, swapping tags in and out and auditioning the voice each time. She loads the built-in demo to show a separate part per singer, imports a MIDI melody that sings la until words are added, then records a piano bed in GarageBand, imports that, and drags the finished vocal back into it.

Worth knowing

Every render goes to the developer’s servers, so it needs a connection and stalls when they are busy. The avatar building is not a step you can skip.
