PianoScapes

What it does

A pack for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler, built from a small set of acoustic and electric pianos processed into soundscapes and texture effects. It splits into two halves: piano presets that still read as pianos, and a larger group of scapes where the source is buried under processing. Some presets draw on AudioThing’s Wurly. Many have the mod wheel mapped to bring in a richer tone, and the raw samples come with the pack for building your own.

In the demo

Jade installs it through User Sounds with her sample library on an external drive, then plays the piano presets with Piano Motifs generating parts and Scaler running underneath, riding the mod wheel to show what it changes. She then switches to a fresh SoundBox instance for the soundscape half and holds notes through those, favouriting as she goes.

Worth knowing

SoundBox crashed on her mid demo and needed a full restart, which she says had been happening for a few days. It is Ali Ahmet’s second pack, sold on Gumroad rather than inside SoundBox, and SoundBox editing unlocks only after one of AudioModern’s own in-app packs is bought.
