Percussive Synth

What it does

Four independent percussion synth voices, each with two oscillators, selectable saw, square, triangle and sine shapes, a noise source, cutoff and resonance, a low-pass filter envelope, an amp envelope and a decay time. The standalone adds a four-lane step sequencer whose loop window stretches: narrow the box and the steps get finer. Each lane can also carry triplet and quintuplet lanes offset from the straight one, for polyrhythmic patterns. Gain pushed past its nominal setting turns into distortion, and tempo runs from 6 to 9999 BPM.

In the demo

Jade builds a pattern from an init patch, lane by lane, stretching the selection box to change note resolution, then adds the triplet and quintuplet offsets. She records a run of cycles and exports it as a WAV, and opens it in AUM as an AUv3, where four instances are driven by Euclidean and Zoa.

Worth knowing

The sequencer exists only in the standalone; as an AUv3 you get one voice per instance and sequence it from the host. Presets and sequences export separately, so patches can move between projects.
