Outgrowth

What it does

A sample-based instrument rather than a sampler, built by Aqeel Aadam with sounds from BlankFor.ms. Samples drop in by drag, get their root note detected and their key range set, and then play back through one of several engines: straight repitching, granular sustain, a ping-pong slice, additive resynthesis from sine partials (Radiate), and a wavetable mode with unison and a sub-oscillator (Delve). Strike, subvert and submerge reshape how each sounds across the keyboard, and LFOs, jitter and envelopes drag onto almost any control. Ripple, reverb, filter and EQ finish the chain, and it takes MPE.

In the demo

Jade loads her own guitar, string and vocal recordings, sets round robin and scanning across them, then runs one guitar pluck through every engine before assigning LFOs to subvert and the filter.

Worth knowing

Nothing records into it, so samples have to arrive from elsewhere, though the developer said in chat that recording is planned. A desktop version is $65 direct from the developer.
