Opacity 2

What it does

A guitar library for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler platform on iPad and desktop, following the first Opacity. It holds 16 scoring kits plus four alternate sessions, each locked to a key with a suggested tempo and laid out across four octave zones: chords, phrases, sequences and textures. Processing is printed into the samples, so presets load with the SoundBox effects rack empty.

In the demo

AudioModern sponsored the episode, as Jade states up front, and she had a beta build. She plays her own piece made with the pack, then works through every kit from a keyboard in AUM, following the suggested tempos, before adding SoundBox reverb and delay.

Worth knowing

Buying the pack from inside SoundBox also unlocks the platform’s saving and pack building. Buying the desktop version instead gives a pack file that imports onto iPad without a second purchase. Everything is tied to a scale, which suits scoring more than free playing.
