NovaLimit & NovaDrive

What it does

Two separate plugins sharing one idea. NovaDrive is a distortion with three engines: overdrive in soft and classic styles, distortion running between tube and high gain, and saturation blending tube and tape. NovaLimit is a limiter with ceiling, input gain, output and a clip stage. Both carry SuperSitter, a control that moves a sound forward or back in the mix, and both take a side chain routed either to the processing or to that spatial control.

In the demo

Jade runs NovaDrive on a synth and on two already distorted guitar tracks in a song of hers, switching it in and out against the mix. She side chains the distortion to a kick, then pushes NovaLimit into its clip stage on drums and uses SuperSitter to lift hi-hats forward.

Worth knowing

Jade treats NovaLimit as a track limiter for loud sources rather than a mix bus one, since the clip adds audible texture fast. Anyone after clean transparent limiting will want a different tool.
