LUXE Audio Enhancer

What it does

A saturation and compression processor with almost nothing to set. The panel carries a bypass switch, one amount knob and an output level, plus a toggle between two modes called Luxe and Finesse. Klevgrand does not publish what sits behind them, and the store listing describes it only as an audio enhancer that is both a saturator and a compressor. The effect stays restrained even at the top of the knob’s travel.

In the demo

Jade runs it in GarageBand across one of her own songs, first on a piano track sitting low in the mix and then on two acoustic guitar strumming tracks. Finesse thins the body out of the warm acoustic where Luxe brightens it, so she keeps Luxe for the track she wants popping forward. She settles on 30 to 70 as her working range, then loads it in AUM at the end of a master chain on the full mix.

Worth knowing

There is no way to see or shape the compression and saturation separately, so anyone wanting control over either will need a different tool. At 100 she picks out a ringing in the background.
