NoInputMixer

What it does

A simulation of no-input mixing, the technique of patching a mixing desk’s output back into its own input so it feeds back with nothing plugged in. This models a seven channel desk: each channel has a preamp model, EQ and filter, a noise source, a limiter, a saturator and an input selector that decides which point of the signal path is fed back into it. Sends and returns carry delay, modulation, formant, crusher and glitch to single channels or the whole mix. A later update filled out the preset bank with drones and scapes, each named for the channel and insert point it uses, so a patch makes sound without wiring the feedback path by hand.

In the demo

Jade opens with five instances layered in AUM, then builds a patch from silence, easing each control up, since small moves swing the sound hard. She stacks channels until they feed into one another and routes tremolo, bit crusher and glitch through the sends.

Worth knowing

It loads as an instrument or as an effect. Anyone after pitched or tonal material will find this aimed at noise and texture instead.
