What it does

A canvas instrument you build by touching the screen. One finger drops a generator, two fingers an instrument, and holding a node while tapping adds a processor, with lines showing the signal path and a node’s position setting its stereo placement. The palette covers 55 synthesis families and 71 processors, plus sound fonts, controllers including a piano-roll sequencer, a fugue arpeggiator and Game of Life, plus 27 scales and Scala file loading.

In the demo

Jade sets a root note and scale first, then builds patches from a cleared canvas by gesture and from the hold-down palette. She hosts an AUv3 piano and a 4Pockets Euclidean sequencer as nodes, runs the create, expand, transform and dismantle pages, seeds angiogenesis so the patch mutates and returns, and records gestures with the looper.

Worth knowing

Hosting other AUv3 plugins inside the standalone is a separate $2.99 in-app purchase, and that node type is absent when Vascular itself runs as an AUv3. Jade finds no way to route MIDI out of it either.
