Movimento Strings

What it does

A chamber string pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox, recorded on a scoring stage with three first violins, three seconds, three violas, two celli and a bass. The four articulations all keep motion inside a held note: free bowing, where each player rebows independently, a slower version of the same, free bowing flautando played near the fingerboard, and dynamic, where players swell at slightly different moments. Standard ships 20 pre-mixed presets. Professional adds Decca, wide, ribbon overhead and close mic positions plus a second performance pass recorded further back and 8 bpm slower, reaching 65 presets.

In the demo

Jade plays a chord progression through Scaler 3 with separate divisi tracks, then works through the standard patches in AUM before switching to professional to compare mic blends and mod wheel layering of the extra pass.

Worth knowing

SoundBox is a free download but stays partly locked until you buy one AudioModern pack. Professional is a separate purchase at $29, with a $10 upgrade path from standard, and runs close to 10 GB in WAV form. Prices on the Sonora site are geo-located, so the figure shown depends on where you are.
