What it does

A sound module built on the Pure Synth engine, stacking up to eight patches into one sound. Twelve gigabytes of samples come with the single price and install to the device or an external drive. Each layer keeps its own volume, mute, solo, envelopes, filters and LFOs, and can be split to its own stretch of the keyboard.

In the demo

Jade loads a five layer symphonic patch, then builds one up, splitting sounds across a Keystep 37 so each range triggers a different layer. She also drops other AUv3 apps into the layer slots, pulling a male choir out of Beat Hawk, and opens an instance in AUM to show every parameter exposed to the host.

Worth knowing

The 12 GB download needs space somewhere, and eight layers of samples ask a lot of an older iPad. Anyone who already owns Pure Synth is buying the layering and the live sets on top.
