Meloddity

What it does

A pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler holding 25 presets built from looping, revolving melodic oddities: bells, blades, reversed material and pads that keep shifting while a key is held. Presets layer two to four sounds, with per-layer volume, mod wheel routing and keyboard zones. The download is two packs, the standard tuning and a duplicate tuned to 432 Hz.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack and plays all 25 presets on held single notes, mutes layers so the parts inside a patch can be heard on their own, and pulls the mod wheel down to bring more of a sound in. She also splits layers across keyboard ranges, drops a vocal from another pack into a preset, and compares the two tunings.

Worth knowing

Unzipped it comes to 224 MB. These are long, drifting textures rather than quick playable instruments, and SoundBox’s sound list has no search yet, which slows things down once a lot of packs are installed.
