Lurssen Mastering Console

What it does

A mastering app that models one studio’s entire signal chain rather than offering a rack of separate processors. The chain view holds a tube equalizer, a solid state equalizer, a tube limiter, a solid state de-esser and a solid state compressor, and only the de-esser threshold and the compressor threshold and makeup gain can be touched. On the front panel sit an input drive knob with a stereo link, five fixed EQ bands at 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 3 kHz, 6 kHz and 10 kHz, and a push knob that nudges all five together.

In the demo

Jade masters tracks sent in by viewers, picking a genre style and then moving very little. She imports WAV files through the share sheet, exports at 44.1 kHz and 24 bit, compares the result against the original mix, and draws input and push automation onto the waveform with an Apple Pencil.

Worth knowing

The free download demonstrates the app only. Unlocking it takes two in-app purchases, Play/Process and the HD engine. Imports must be WAV, and Jade notes in the description that IK Multimedia removed the rental options she covers on camera.
