What it does
Two small AUv3 plugins built to run together. SimplEQ is a six-band EQ with fixed, deliberately overlapping bands at 50 Hz, 100 Hz, 250 Hz, 1 kHz, 5 kHz and 10 kHz, each with 6 dB of cut or boost, plus an output trim. There is no curve display at all. LevLr 2 is a compressor into a limiter, each with three ratios, a drive slider that sets the threshold, automatic makeup gain, a mix control and soft or hard clipping at the end. Both carry presets, a default reset and a randomize.
In the demo
Jade runs the pair across three finished songs and on a mix bus in AUM, pushing the drive past where it breaks up so the distortion is audible.
Worth knowing
The point is mixing by ear on very little CPU, which suits older iPads. Anyone who works from a spectrum curve or needs a specific frequency will want a parametric EQ instead. LevLr 1, limiter only, is still free.
