LoopMangler

What it does

A pattern-based glitch processor that runs a loaded sample or live input through a grid of up to 64 steps, with as many as six effects stacked per step. Effects include gate, glitch, stutter, pulse, decimator, filters, slow, noise and two delays, each with its own envelope, occurrence odds and modes. Input and output sections add saturation, exciter, EQ and a limiter.

In the demo

Jade loads it in AUM both as an instrument with an imported loop and as an effect on a drum app, building patterns by hand before switching to the presets. She works through copy, paste, move and clear on cells, bars and rows, then runs the Make menu to randomize patterns and envelopes.

Worth knowing

The parent and child effect linking, and the separate Effects and Pattern pages, take a while to hold in your head. Anyone wanting subtle processing will find it aimed squarely at destruction instead. A preset does nothing until the Set button is pressed, which is easy to miss.
