What it does

A step sequencer for effects. Audio passing through is written into six stacked lanes, slice, loop, envelope, filter and two effects channels, and each step in each lane triggers a different treatment. The lanes reorder by dragging, each has its own wet level and four user slots for custom shapes, and the effects run from delay, reverb and distortion through vinyl scratch, tape stop, freeze, vowel filters and a chaos synth. Randomization has modes from a balanced smart setting to fully chaotic.

In the demo

Jade builds up from a plain Hammerhead drum loop, then runs it on a Scaler piano part, a bassline and finally a live microphone.

Worth knowing

It is iPad only, and the free download is standalone only, with the AUv3 behind the unlock. Two AUv3 entries appear once unlocked, and the MIDI version is the one that allows preset switching from a keyboard.
