What it does
A feedback-based processor built with Hainbach from the behaviour of telephone line test equipment. Incoming audio passes through frequency shifting, jitter, two diode distortions, a phase shifter and a line selector with filters and width, all fed back into a limited feedback path. With no input it still makes sound: an eight-step pulse sequencer and a modulated noise section turn it into a rhythm and drone generator on its own.
In the demo
Jade builds a rhythm from the init patch with nothing plugged in, adding pulses, noise modulation, feedback and distortion one stage at a time. She then runs a glockenspiel and other instruments through it, and finishes in Logic showing three ways to record it.
Worth knowing
It loads only as an audio effect, never as an instrument, so recording its self-generated sound takes a bus or a track workaround. A Mac and Windows version sells separately for around 39 dollars.
