Kumori

What it does

A meditative library for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler with nine presets. Two Bansuri flute and two Xiao flute presets sit alongside three meditation pads, a singing bowl preset and a bank of environmental and ambient percussion effects. Layers are mapped to their own key ranges, so rain, birds and water land at one end of the keyboard and the flutes at another, with markers under the keys showing where each sits.

In the demo

Jade imports both packs through User Sounds, then plays the Kumori presets from an Arturia keyboard in AUM, calling out the key range markers as she goes. She plays flutes and healing bowls together using the hardware keys and the on-screen pad at once, opens the sample editor, and lifts the gain on a quiet meditation pad.

Worth knowing

Sold separately from Blackspire, the other Kompose Audio pack in the same episode, and both also appear in the developer’s bundles. Some presets sit low in level, so expect to add gain. SoundBox is free, with editing and sample import unlocked by one AudioModern pack bought inside it.
