KNOCK

What it does

A drum processor built from five sections. Punch lifts transients, saturate runs at light, medium and heavy settings, a sub adds low end with its own level, decay and chosen note, air brightens the top, and clip is switchable between soft and hard. Low and high cut sliders limit what gets treated, a tone control tilts the balance between top and bottom, and gain match holds the output level as the drive comes up. A quality setting can be lowered or turned off for older devices, and there is a dry wet mix. Every parameter is exposed, so a host can automate the sub pitch or anything else.

In the demo

Jade works through the sections one at a time on loops from DigiStix, Hammerhead and Drum Computer, then pushes the saturation and clip until the kit stops reading as drums. She loads separate instances across a split kit in AUM so each piece gets its own treatment, and puts it on the snare and kick of a finished metal track in GarageBand.

Worth knowing

It shapes drums that already exist rather than making them. The desktop version is a separate purchase.
