What it does
A soundscape pack of eight presets for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler. Most arrive with the attack near the top of its range, so sounds swell in over a couple of seconds, and several are split so one part of the set works as a pad and the rest as leads. Every preset layers separate samples in columns that can be muted individually, which is how the odd detail buried in a texture, a piano in one case, becomes audible on its own.
In the demo
Jade imports the pack in AUM and holds single notes through each preset in turn, pulling the attack down and adding gain where a sound sits too quietly. She mutes layers one by one to isolate the piano running under one texture, then moves through the leads and pads before finishing with a Bounce Bud patch using several of these packs together.
Worth knowing
These are slow atmospheres, so anyone after something that speaks immediately will be reaching for the attack control first. SoundBox is free, but editing stays locked until one of AudioModern’s own in-app packs is bought.
