What it does
A bass instrument played on a string layout rather than a keyboard, with 13 sampled and synth tones covering finger style, pick, slap, fretless, upright and growling synth basses. Velocity comes from touch force, and slides, hammer-ons and vibrato are played by moving on the string. Strings, frets, tuning system, note labels, velocity range and pitch bend depth are all adjustable, and it also sends MIDI out.
In the demo
Jade plays the tones one by one on screen and from an Arturia keystep, showing how touch pressure changes the attack. She records a part as an AUv3 in GarageBand and swaps instruments after the fact, then routes it in AUM as a controller for iSymphonic and other synths.
Worth knowing
The layout rewards playing with fingers on glass, so anyone who only enters notes from a keyboard will use a fraction of it.
