GSDSP Quantum Delay

What it does

A delay with a tape section and a more modern fade section, each switchable between stereo and dual mono so left and right can run different divisions. A filter block offers several types with adjustable slope and a phase invert, and the feedback block splits per channel with an override that pushes the line into self-oscillation, plus a kill control to stop it. Eight modulation slots feed LFOs, randoms, envelope followers, 2D shapes, strange attractors and macros to almost any parameter.

In the demo

Jade sets up a minimal project of bells and keys with an instance on every track, then opens one to work through it section by section. She routes a 2D modulator’s X and Y axes to separate targets and uses the randomiser with parameter locks to jump between states.

Worth knowing

Nearly everything is modulatable, which is the point, but reaching a usable setting takes time compared to a preset-first delay. GSDSP sells a desktop version on their own site at $10, and offers a free plug-in built around the same modulation system.
