Grenadier

What it does

A sound pack for AudioModern’s SoundBox aimed at dark scoring work, following Kompose Audio’s aircraft-themed Skyfire. It holds 20 presets of gritty textures, cold atmospheres, deep low tones and fragmented leads, with military names such as No Man’s Land, Ashen Sky and Black Powder. Each preset has an A and a B version, B adding a fourth layer, and the layers are split across the keyboard so the low and high registers sound different. The mod wheel fades layers in and out.

In the demo

Jade imports the pack in AUM and plays each preset from a keyboard, working the mod wheel for buildups and bending pitch by hand. She isolates layers to show what each one contributes, opens the vector modulation on one preset, and drives the pack from a chord generator.

Worth knowing

It needs SoundBox, which is a free download, and the purchase includes Kontakt versions of the same sounds.
