What it does
An in-app expansion for FRMS, Imaginando’s four-layer granular synth. The presets lean ghostly and lo-fi: creaks, clicks, transmission noise, mono basses and leads, and slow poly pads, with roughly half of them monophonic. Every patch stays editable, so grain density and size, tuning, offset and the mono, unison or poly setting can all be changed per layer.
In the demo
Jade plays a short ambient piece built from the pack, then works through the presets one at a time on held notes. She solos the individual granular lanes to show what a patch is made of, flips a mono preset to poly, sets a couple of patches against a drum loop from another app, and pushes one through an outboard shimmer reverb.
Worth knowing
The pack is bought from the store inside FRMS and does nothing without it. Jade hit a crash loading more than three instances of FRMS in AUM during the demo. These sit closer to sound design than to playable synth patches.
