What it does

A 24-track tape multitrack recorder for iPad modelled on reel-to-reel machines. Tape types run from cassette to one-inch master, with wow, flutter, input drive, tape age, stickiness, head gap and wear controls, plus sound-on-sound recording. Each track has trim, three-band EQ, two aux sends, four insert slots and automation, with built-in or AUv3 effects and instruments.

In the demo

Jade runs it in demo mode, then unlocks it. She routes a piano AUv3 to a track, records with punch-in and loop points, imports a friend’s song to hear the tape controls degrade it, paints dropouts and splices onto the reel, and builds a short song from guitar, MIDI drums, bass, keys and vocals before bouncing stems.

Worth knowing

Processing is RAM based, so track count and tape length depend on the iPad. It is a linear tape workflow rather than a clip or pattern DAW, and the desktop version is a separate purchase from the developer.
