Floating Ensemble

What it does

A film scoring library for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler, drawing on 30 sound sources that blend strings, brass, woodwinds, choirs and textures. Patches carry four layers apiece, each on its own fader and key range, so a held chord can be pulled from full ensemble down to one section, or rebuilt from other packs.

In the demo

Jade imports it from an external SSD and plays patch after patch from a keyboard in AUM, muting layers so the cellos, violins, brass and winds can be heard separately. She favourites the ones she likes, then closes the show driving several from Scaler.

Worth knowing

The samples are uncompressed and the download is large, and the developer told Jade on air that some iPads hit performance limits with these libraries while Mac and PC are fine. She ran three instances in AUM but crashed Logic loading more than one, so her advice is to work track by track and freeze.
