What it does

A playback instrument for long recordings. Load a file and place up to four windows anywhere across it, each with its own speed from 0.5x to 4x, a forward, reverse or ping pong direction, crossfade, drive, filter, level, pan and solo. A patch bay holds three LFOs, with sine, triangle, saw, square and sample and hold shapes, routable to any window’s speed, filter, drive, level or pan. Splice adds a second and third source to the same patch, and a .fieldkit file saves the state with its audio inside.

In the demo

Jade builds from one window up to four in the standalone version, stretching and overlapping them over an ambient bed, then sends LFOs to pan, speed and filter. She records the result straight out to AudioShare, saves the patch, and reloads it in the AUv3.

Worth knowing

The recorder is standalone only, and the AUv3 plays from host transport rather than its own button. Moving a window while it runs produces clicks, which the crossfade smooths. It crashed once in the demo. The desktop build is pay what you want above a minimum on Gumroad.
