Exoria

What it does

A cinematic expansion for AudioModern’s SoundBox sampler, supplied as four pack files: Exoria, Exoria Keys, Exoria Braams and Exoria Effects. Together they carry over 190 presets, among them 80 pads, 40 keys, braams and effects, drawn from 89 original sound sources and 973 wave files. Installed it runs over 4 GB on iPad. Each preset splits into individual sounds that can be muted, swapped or mixed with samples from other packs.

In the demo

Jade opens with a piece she scored over her own drone footage, five SoundBox instances running at once, then imports all four pack files and works through the effects pack, the main pack, the keys and the braams. She drives the keys from Piano Motifs and runs the braam combis on the vector page, synced to the clock.

Worth knowing

SoundBox is free on iPad and desktop, with editing and pack building unlocked by buying one AudioModern pack inside the app. A library this size means a lot of scrolling to find a sound, something Jade raises several times, and storage planning if you keep packs on the iPad.
