Entropy Volume 2

What it does

The second Entropy volume for SoundBox, AudioModern’s free sampler, from Cinematic Alpha. Thirty patches run from two drum sets with loop material at 90 and 100 BPM through bass, leads, arpeggiated plucks and pad combis, leaning synthwave and science fiction rather than acoustic. Both a wave pack and a lighter FLAC pack are included.

In the demo

Jade plays a synthwave track she built with it in Logic, imports the FLAC version through User Sounds, then works through all thirty patches from a keyboard. She shows pressure sensitivity on the lead, slows an arpeggiator down, adds a bass enhancer, and hits a missing file warning on one patch the developer was still chasing.

Worth knowing

Patches sit in narrow key ranges, the drums at C1 to C2, so you move octaves to find them. SoundBox is free, but its full feature set stays locked until one AudioModern pack is bought inside the app.
