Eko Soul Afrobeats

What it does

An Apple sound pack for GarageBand and Logic Pro built around West African rhythms from Lagos and Accra, with talking drums and highlife syncopation at the core. It brings 370 Apple Loops (about 235 MB) covering percussion, kicks and snares, synth bass, guitars, saxophone, brass, flutes, pads and vocal phrases. Logic Pro adds six Drum Machine Designer kits, ten instrument patches and a Live Loops grid.

In the demo

Jade downloads it from the GarageBand sound library, filters the loop browser to the pack and stacks guitar, conga, bass, pad, vocal and sax loops into a sketch. In Logic Pro she plays the Live Loops grid, loads the kits into Drum Machine Designer and tries the synth patches.

Worth knowing

Free in GarageBand; in Logic Pro it comes with the subscription. The loops follow the project key and tempo, and it is a loop and kit pack rather than a playable instrument.
