What it does
A recreation of a Binson Echorec, a valve echo that wrote its repeats to a rotating magnetic drum rather than to tape. Four playheads circle that drum, and a numbered selector combines them into different repeat patterns, the top setting using all four at once. The rest of the panel covers mix, echo swell level and swell length, a slow control, and hiss and dirt on top of the noise the modelled circuit already makes.
In the demo
Jade opens with the history of the hardware and footage of the refurbished unit the model was built from, then runs it in AUM on electric guitar over a blues backing. She works the panel one control at a time so each head combination is audible, edits the playhead positions, and then moves it onto bass, vocals and drums.
Worth knowing
The hum and hiss are always there by design, so anyone after a clean modern delay is in the wrong place. Knobs can be MIDI mapped to a keyboard or foot switch, and a help page explains what each numbered setting does. Apple lists it for iPad only.
